Job Description

Established in 1980, our client is one of the oldest and largest Distributors of IT and Technology products in the UK Reseller market.

Their Altham based head office currently has an opening for an Accounts Payable Clerk on a full time basis.

Working within their busy Accounts Payable team within a friendly and supportive environment, you would be responsible for full account ownership and to ensure that monthly targets and strict deadlines are met.
Key Duties:
  • Ensure suppliers are paid in adherence with credit policy and that all necessary adjustments such as debit notes, part payments and early settlement discount are realised effectively
  • Maintain and encourage good customer relations (internal & external) at all levels through personal contact and visits
  • Ad-hoc job related tasks as requested by AP Manager/Supervisor or any members of the Management Team
  • Chase debit notes raised by commercial and ensure they are credited by vendors on a timely basis
  • Processing and matching Invoices and Credits using AP Oracle applications
  • Responsible for ensuring that Freight Suppliers are processed through CSS
  • Preparing payments which will include multiple multi currency payment runs to include BACS/Chaps/Transfers
  • Responsible for Invoice Query resolution - Ensuring Suppliers and Internal contacts are chased regularly for resolution to Invoice Queries
  • Responsible for DN resolution - Ensuring Suppliers and Commercial are chased regularly for resolution to Debit Notes and able to chase for payments
  • Responsible for ensuring Supplier Statement Reconciliations are completed
  • Liaise effectively with suppliers
  • Responsible for General Housekeeping within the AP Function
Person specification:
  • Candidates should have previous experience and the ability to deliver challenging Financial targets
  • High attention to detail and ability to review detailed work quickly and accurately
  • Enthusiastic with positive attitude - with a "can do" mentality
  • Excellent communication and team building skills and ability to develop relationships with other parts of the business
  • Disciplined and able to work under high pressure to achieve tight deadlines
  • Competent user of Microsoft Office Products
