Baggage Handler / Ramp Service Agent Job Description:&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
Airport baggage handlers are responsible for marshalling aircraft in the gate, loading, unloading and sorting freight and baggage. &lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
Essential Duties and Responsibilities of a Baggage Handler - Ramp Agent:&lt;br /&gt;
Responsible for maintaining safety and security of the ramp at all times &lt;br /&gt;
Monitor customer safety during boarding and deplaning, and assist customers in a friendly and courteous manner &lt;br /&gt;
Marshall aircraft on the ramp (includes directing, assisting and parking all arriving, departing and towed aircraft) &lt;br /&gt;
Transfer baggage to all airlines&lt;br /&gt;
Observe safe ground handling procedures and maintenance of ground handling equipment, including the performance of equipment checks &lt;br /&gt;
Comply with all safety procedures and Station Policies &lt;br /&gt;
Responsible for courteous, prompt, accurate and careful handling of customer baggage, airfreight and COMAT (continuous lifting, loading/unloading, sorting &amp; transfer of baggage, freight, COMAT) &lt;br /&gt;
Service aircraft as needed (aircraft lavatories, portable water, window wash, de-icing and commissary items &lt;br /&gt;
Assist in ramp set-up and storage of equipment and baggage &lt;br /&gt;
Constant communication with Operations, Flight Crew personnel and other ground personnel &lt;br /&gt;
Miscellaneous duties as assigned by Supervisor and Manager&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
Good hourly rates&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
Other information &lt;br /&gt;
Must have a Full UK Clean Driving licence &lt;br /&gt;
Must be able to pass a colour blind Test &lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;

Key Responsibilities:&lt;br /&gt;

To lead, motivate and organize the Executive lounge assistants on shift to ensure that airline quality and punctuality standards and performance standards are met. &lt;br /&gt;
To review the performance of all agents on shift, to identify areas of improvement, to provide immediate training and to refer for further training where appropriate. To maintain the highest level of effectiveness and professionalism &lt;br /&gt;
To organise resources so that agents have all the material and equipment necessary to carry out their designated tasks and to ensure specific customer requirements are met &lt;br /&gt;
To liase closely with departmental manager, passengers (as necessary) and with other departments to provide accurate and timely information and to respond sensitively and professionally to problems raised to ensure good relations are maintained. &lt;br /&gt;
To ensure the highest standards of health and safety and security are maintained in the jobholder’s area of influence &lt;br /&gt;

Assisting with  Uniform &lt;br /&gt;

Skills/qualities required:&lt;br /&gt;
Good working knowledge of passenger handling and current customer standards &lt;br /&gt;
Technical knowledge &lt;br /&gt;
Excellent people skills in order to motivate and lead effectively. &lt;br /&gt;
Good understanding of the operational set up in the station in order to effectively supervise the team &lt;br /&gt;
