Our client was set up at High Peak Foodbank in early 2015 and use a range of psychological techniques in work coaching combined with work experience to help local people into work and are now looking to recruit a new Work Coach based in the High Peak area, working from Buxton with travel once a week to either Matlock or Ashbourne. This project is being funded by the European Social Fund and the Naional Lottery Community Fund. The charity also receives a lot of support from the community and work with many organisations and businesses, and are small enough to tailor support to individual needs and have flexible working hours to fit in with other commitments.

THE ROLE: The role of Work coach is a wide varying and rewarding role. As a Work Coach you will contribute to the overall success of the BBO Towards Work Programme within Derbyshire or Nottinghamshire. The successful candidate will work directly with unemployed and economically inactive participants by effectively delivering a holistic, personalised support service, which empowers participants with the self-belief, skills, motivation and confidence to enable them to progress into employment, self-employment or further training/education. The Work Coach will facilitate a range of Employability and Personal Development Interventions, via 1:1 and group based learning and development sessions. They will provide participants with comprehensive Initial Diagnostic Assessments, plan and deliver their learning & development, evaluate and measure their progress and impart guidance, knowledge and mentoring. They
will play a pivotal role in helping individuals to overcome their fears and barriers and to develop their employability skills.

THE CANDIDATE: The successful candidate for the Work Coach role will need to be a highly motivated and well organised person who has great time management, planning, and prioritising skills who has worked in an office environment meeting challenging contractual Key Performance Indicator (KPI) targets. You will employ a high level of emotional intelligence (e.g. Respect, Empathy & Compassion), and will need to have knowledge and an understanding of the Local Labour Market, Sector Skills Gaps, local Employment & Skills provision, Specialist Support Networks, and Education & Training providers. You will need to be an excellent communicator who has the ability to devise and deliver engaging and meaningful learning activities with an employment and skills focus, and also screen, assess, diagnose and support participants with literacy, numeracy and/ or language needs. Candidates will also need to
possess a passionate and positive outlook, with the ability to build rapport, empower, inspire, and enthuse participants, and although not essential, previous experience of coaching, supporting and placing unemployed/ economically inactive people with multiple & complex needs into employment, self-employment or FE/Training would be desirable.
Key Experience/ Characteristics preferred for the Work Coach role in Buxton, Derbyshire :-
- Good administration, IT and organisational/time management skills essential
- Must beICT literate; Office 365, Database, Word, PowerPoint & Excel
- Proven track record of meeting KPI's and challenging deadlines essential
- Must possess high level communication, interpersonal and presentational skills and understands its importance in both participant relationships and teamwork
- Will ideally have a valid Driving Licence and use of our won vehicle
- Will need to live within commutable distance to Buxton and be able to travel to Matlock or Ashbourne once a week
- Previous experience of effective case management of disadvantaged participants would be highly desirable
