Wages Clerk

Location: Cardiff

R&M Williams Building Group based in Cardiff and Swansea, comprises of R&M Williams Ltd, R&M Williams Developments; the Group Structure supports a combined turnover of over £40million.

R&M Williams Ltd undertakes projects within the public and private sector across a broad range of value bands in various sectors including refurbishment, heritage schemes, maintenance and new build projects for our clients in education, retail and health sectors and social housing.

Due to continued success they are currently looking to recruit a Wages Clerk to work in their Finance Department.

Duties Include:

  • Uploading timesheets onto system

  • Check thoroughly each contractor timesheets verses entry onto payroll system

  • Maintains payroll processing system and records by gathering, calculating, and inputting data

  • Adheres to payroll policies and procedures and complies with relevant law

  • Identifies, investigates, and resolves discrepancies in timesheets and payroll records

  • End to end processing of weekly and monthly payroll

  • Manage any payroll queries efficiently

  • Monitor monthly pension contributions

  • Check and validation by variance reports of the final payroll files before submission

  • Calculate and process statutory sick and wages arrestments

The Ideal Candidate:

  • Experience working within a payroll capacity dealing with end to end payroll

  • Excellent verbal and written communication

  • Positive outlook

  • Good organisational skills

  • Excellent time management

  • Resourcefulness

  • Detail-Oriented

  • Proficient knowledge of Excel

  • Previous experience in a similar role

  • Understanding and experience of statutory sick pay, wages etc

  • Proficient knowledge and experience using Excel
