Job Title: Ticketing & Admissions Assistants

Location: London, Tower of London

Salary: £19,095 per annum pro rata (£11.43 per hour)

Closing date: 9th February 2018

The organisation is the independent charity that looks after the Tower of London, Hampton Court Palace, the Banqueting House, Kensington Palace, Kew Palace and Hillsborough Castle. The cause is to help everyone explore the story of how monarchs and people have shaped society, in some of the greatest palaces ever built.

Current Vacancies include:

• 6 x Casual positions

• 4 x full time positions March to October 2018

• 2 x full time positions March 2018 to February 2019

• 4 x part time positions March to October 2018

• 3 x part time positions March to September 2018

• 2 x part time positions March 2018 to February 2019

Full-time vacancies will be required to work 36 hours per week and part-time vacancies for 30 hours per week. You will be working for 5 days per week, including some weekends and Bank Holidays on a rolling roster.

For their casual fee paid posts - rather than being tied to working specific days in the week they are looking for people who are flexible in their availability in order to ensure that we have adequate cover at busy times. This could mean working any day of the week including weekends, Bank holidays, and school holidays for a variety of hours.

It's hard to imagine a time when the Tower of London wasn't as welcoming as it is today. But it's precisely because of its diverse, fascinating (and often bloody) past that this magnificent historical building draws so many visitors from around the world. You'll find it a major attraction, too, if the combination of history and giving great service to the public is something that really interests you.

As well as selling the full range of admission tickets to the Tower and other attractions, you'll deliver excellent customer service so that all our visitors enjoy their visit to the full. You'll also encourage visitors to donate, Gift Aid, plus promote and sell guide books, and encourage people to take Historic Royal Palaces Membership. You may also be required to help with queue management, scanning tickets on entry and generally helping with customer queries when working out on Tower Hill. A good standard of education, high quality customer care and cash-handling experience are essential, as is good spoken English and basic PC literacy. Previous box office experience would be an advantage but full training will be provided.
