BASIC SALARY: £55,000 – £65,000

BENEFITS:

  • 24 days holiday + Bank holidays + Flexible working hours that can add up to another 12 days holidays

LOCATION: Manchester

COMMUTABLE LOCATIONS:  Liverpool, Warrington, Bolton, Bury, Rochdale, Stockport, Huddersfield,  Preston, Blackburn, Chester, Northwich, Macclesfield, Runcorn, Halifax, Ormskirk.

Purchasing and Supply Chain efficiencies – they’re in your DNA.  Whether it’s driving continuous improvements in long-term supplier relationships, being an integral part of a SAP implementation or driving down the cost of inventory, you’re the sort of person who loves the challenge of the strategic aspects of procurement planning as well as the operational elements of day to day delivery.

This is your chance to take over an existing multi-million pound procurement strategy and change it for the better.  We we’ve got a solid framework in place but you’ll help us get our house in order, leading us into the future on aspects such as:

  • Managing the ongoing reduction of our internal inventory ensuring we have a lean stock-holding environment.
  • Ongoing support of our SAP as an MRP system – it’s in place but you’ll be instrumental in helping us maximise its use.
  • High value / short timescale capital project planning and resourcing.
  • Assessing how to get best value out of our current procurement relationships and where needed, instigate new relationships, dealing with Energy suppliers, Material suppliers and Human Capital resources.
  • Managing all direct and indirect procurement for the business.
  • Implementing the correct SLA’s for the business and suppliers.

You’ll need to be excellent at prioritising your workload between all of the vendor meetings as well as managing the day to day activities (and KPI’s) of your supply chain team of 7, using your previous experience to coach, mentor and develop them into a well honed collective.

It’s not essential that you’re CIPS or MCIPS qualified but you will be a highly experienced Purchasing & Supply Chain Manager who has worked within a manufacturing environment - anything from heavy engineering or food manufacturing to automotive engineering or chemical production.

The most critical thing will be your ability to develop and lead change initiatives combined with strong project management skills.

This is a senior position, reporting directly to the MD and it’s highly likely you will have worked in any of the following roles and/or markets, and worked with the following products and/or services:

Procurement Manager, Senior Buyer, Buying Manager, Category Manager, Purchasing Manager, Purchasing & Supply Chain Manager, Procurement, Buying, Buyer, Category, Procurement Manager, Manufacturing, Production, Factory, Heavy Industrial. Automotive, Engineering, Chemical, Food Manufacturing.
