Sixth Form School Administrator - Hackney, East London

Permanent term time role (39 weeks), plus 1 week non term time, working hours 8:30am - 4:30pm.

Salary: £22,296 - £24,682 per annum (Pro rata of FTE: £25,549 - £28,283).

All successful applicants will be subject to enhanced DBS Checks and satisfactory References.

The Company:

Our well established client is a coeducational secondary school and sixth form with academy status, located in the London Borough of Hackney.

The Role:

Our client is looking to appoint an experienced School or Sixth form Administrator as soon as possible to take the key role of providing administrative support to the sixth form team and members of the Senior Leadership Team, undertaking a range of administrative tasks associated with the Sixth form.

Role Responsibilities:

This is an exciting and varied role and is perfect for someone who is confident and likes daily challenges. You will have experience of working within a School or Sixth form as an Administrator and would ideally be able to hit the ground running with little support from the team. You will be organised with IT skills in Microsoft Office and SIMs. You will be able to communicated effectively and build excellent working relationships with the sixth form students.

As part of your role you will be responsible for the following key tasks:

• Monitor attendance and punctuality of students using the school systems and liaise with parents
• Promote the highest standards of conduct and behaviour by implementing the schools behaviour systems
• Be responsible for the supervision of the sixth form students during their independent study time
• Support with recruitment, lead as appropriate with the administration involved with recruitment such as interviews, references, and acceptance letters etc.
• Assist in the promotion of and attend Open Evenings and other school events when required
• Support students with changing courses
• Support with trips and visits
• Maintain and update information on the school website and other social media sites
• Prepare and maintain the filing systems and records of Sixth Form students, including their subjects, registers/attendance.
• Take minutes at meetings
• Distribute internal and external mail
• Ordering and checking Stationary stock levels


Essential Skills & Requirements:

• Literate and numerate, GCSE grade C in Maths and English minimum
• Post 16 vocational or academic qualifications
• Significant experience of working in an administrative role within a busy office environment and educational setting.
• Proficient in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher
• Proficient in the use of Outlook
• Knowledge of SIMS
• Excellent communication skills
• Efficient and organised
• Able to maintain confidentiality and discretion at all times
• Able to multi-task and be flexible
• A keen eye for detail and accuracy
• Ability to work under pressure and independently
