The Company

Our Client is a global, industry leading Asset Manager. Their London based Compliance and Risk Team are seeing unprecedented growth throughout the business. They seek to recruit a Senior Risk Manager with an audit background to join the Compliance and Risk Team. The role is new and a permanent headcount, however, to gain a much-needed resource as soon as possible, the Company will seriously consider all applications, whether these be from candidates specialising in contract assignments, or those looking for their next career move.

The Role

Support the Chief Risk Officer to ensure that the Company has effective processes to identify, manage, monitor and report risks to corporate objectives and maintain all components of a global risk management framework. This role will provide support and challenge the business teams on matters relating to Governance and Operational Risk, assist business units in delivering Risk and Control Self Assessments and help the business identify emerging risks through scenario analysis and stress testing. Project work will include the development and implementation of ERM frameworks.

Essential Requirements

A highly motivated Senior Risk Manager, with experience within Operational Risk on an Enterprise-wide basis.
Around seven years’ (plus) operating at Risk and Senior Risk Manager level within Enterprise Risk Management and Operational Risk, working for Global Asset Managers /Investment Managers (preferred) or within a risk management consultancy.
Recent experience of completing Enterprise Risk Management projects, responsible for both bottom up and top down analysis of perceived and actual risks, making the relevant change recommendations to the Executive and board.
Strong track record of Operational Risk enhancements, including setting up new risk and control functions as well as the development and embedding of multiple Enterprise wide risk frameworks, ensuring best practice policies, procedures and processes were created.
Extensive exposure to RCSAs and Risk Event Management, in addition to recovery and resolution planning.

Key Skills

Significant Operational Risk/Internal Audit experience working within the asset management sector (preferred) or within a risk management consultancy.
Extensive practical experience of Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) frameworks.
Technical understanding of risk management standards (ISO 31000 or COSO ERM).
Experience of using ERM software.
Hands-on experience working on all components that make up the risk framework.
Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence at a senior level.
