Elevation Procurement and Supply Chain are currently recruiting for an experienced Senior Buyer for a well-established, leading and growing organisation based in the city of Sheffield.

My client is a global Manufacturer of engineered products; they employ over 1000 people and offer innovative solutions, whilst delivering exceptional customer service. Due to continued growth and success they are looking to recruit an experienced Senior Buyer to ensure all strategic supply partners meet and exceed SLA's, whilst delivering on quality, cost and performance.

Reporting into the Supply Chain Manager, the Senior Buyer will evaluate, develop and oversee day-to-day execution of sourcing strategies across key spend categories; Demonstrating year-on-year improvement through maintaining low inventory targets and continuous evaluation of the businesses sourcing needs.

Key duties & responsibilities within the role:

-Implement and deliver sourcing strategies to ensure efficient solutions are developed for the everyday procurement for the business.
-Evaluate existing agreed terms for key suppliers, while implementing new supplier contracts to ensure maximum cost efficiency
-Strategically manage supplier performance targets
-Review supplier quality and service, ensuring capacity and capability is understood to exceed long-term objectives
-Support business S&OP process, specifically in relation to supplier performance, capacity availability and overall capability ensuring risks and mitigation plans are communicated and actioned accordingly
-Providing appropriate procurement support to contribute to NPD and EPD projects

Elevation Procurement and Supply Chain would be keen to speak with candidates with the following skills and experiences:

-Demonstrable experience in similar fast-moving industries, such as automotive, aerospace, heavy engineering and/ or precision engineering environments
-Extensive practical strategic buying experience
-Excellent attention to detail with a capacity to recognise problems and proactively resolve
-Good negotiation skills with a commercial awareness
-CIPS qualified or equivalent is desirable
