Semi Senior Accountant

Manchester City Centre

Are you a Semi Senior Accountant looking for a new position in Manchester City Centre?

A well-established Accountancy Practice with a collegiate team are currently looking for a Semi Senior to join their Accounts and Tax department.

As a Semi Senior Accountant, you would be supporting the Accounts and Tax department in providing a wide range of Accountancy and Advisory services to clients.

Duties and responsibilities:

Your main duties and responsibilities as a Semi Senior Accountant will include:

  • Preparing basic sets of accounts, corporation tax returns and VAT returns.
  • Assisting with the preparation of more complex accounts, VAT returns, company accounts and corporation tax returns.
  • Analysing, summarising and reconciling client accounting records.
  • Coding up summaries and posting on to accounts production software.
  • Associated administrative tasks.

You will be expected to be able to complete more basic tasks independently and without supervision.

With more substantial jobs, it is expected you will require guidance and support until you have developed the experience to complete defined aspects of the work independently.

Person specification:

  • You will hold 2-3 years' experience working in practice in a similar Accounts position.
  • You will be personable and self-driven.
  • Able to maintain professional relationships, communicating clearly, openly and effectively, with authority to both customers and colleagues.
  • Be able to demonstrate a high attention to detail, and see tasks through to completion within agreed timescales.
  • You'll have knowledge of customer-contact systems, as well as Microsoft Office systems including email and calendars, Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • A keen interest in learning new skills and developing your knowledge.

You will be working in a really nice setup with good training and a sociable environment.
