A vacancy has arisen for a Secretary or Trainee Secretary within the Family Department based at the Chorley Office.

 

Working within the Family Department and as part of a team, the role will include:

 

  • Working in co-operation with fee earners and other colleagues

  • Typing letters, notes, memos and other documents, using the firm’s case management system

  • Sending faxes and emails

  • Filing and photocopying

  • Dealing with clients in person and by phone

 

The successful applicant will ideally have:

·         touch typing speeds of 30wpm, or willingness to learn

·         excellent attention to detail and proof reading skills

·         excellent interpersonal organisational and IT skills

 

In addition, the role will include ensuring that departmental documentation and file management meets the firm’s LAA (Legal Aid Agency) SQM (Specialist Quality Mark) standards. 

 

Candidates must have 5 GCSE’s grades 4 or above, or equivalent, including Maths and English.

 

Departmental specific training and individual development will be given to the successful candidate.  The hours of work will be 9am – 5pm Monday to Friday, commencing with 20 holidays, plus 8 statutory bank holidays.
