Sales Support Administrator – 16 hrs/wk @ £10.40 p/hr (temp to perm) – East Croydon

The Role

BMI Publishing is looking to recruit a part-time dedicated Sales Support Administrator to assist our busy three-strong sales team on one of our magazines. The successful candidate will enjoy working with a friendly, fun and hard-working team in a very sociable office, and will get a buzz out of being involved with industry-leading, well-respected products.

Initially, the role is for up to 16 hours a week, with our preference being someone who is in a position to spread those hours over four or five days. There is a possibility that these hours might be extended in the future. The key responsibilities of the Sales Support Administrator include, but are not limited to:

  • Managing our client database of 50,000 people located worldwide and inputting new contacts
  • Managing contact email bouncebacks
  • Taking responsibility for event administration including liaison with venues, suppliers, sponsors, exhibitors and delegates
  • Liaising with internal departments, editorial and design teams, and location event contacts
  • Performing administration and other associated tasks surrounding our annual Selling Travel Agents Awards scheme
  • Planning and booking company travel
  • Updating our weekly sales figures
  • Producing client letters and address labels in Word
  • Coordinating magazine feature lists and informing PR contacts
  • Helping help with office phones, printing/binding media kits and other hoc admin tasks

At BMI Publishing we produce a range of travel and hospitality magazines and online resources, as well as undertaking projects on behalf of customers across the industry. We publish several leading B2B titles and organise and stage a diverse portfolio of events. In addition, we also work with numerous partners on customer-commissioned projects.

We’ve come a long way since our inception in 1990, focusing initially on the travel trade but branching out to the consumer sector and, latterly, moving into the events industry and embracing the online age like it’s a long-lost friend. The Person

The key skills and qualities of a Sales Support Administrator:

  • An enthusiastic individual with the relevant administration experience, being fast and accurate at administration and clerical tasks
  • Strong organisational and multi-tasking skills, able to handle multiple workstreams in a fast paced and busy environment
  • Good computer literacy including competency in Microsoft Office; knowledge of ACT and how to mail-merge would be an advantage
  • Excellent communication skills, including written English; as well as a high level of numeracy
  • A rudimentary understanding of GDPR rules to maintain our contacts database
  • Knowledge of ACT and how to mail-merge would be an advantage
