Sales Executive / Technical Sales Executive  required for a company who are global specialists in the sale of Scientific Equipment and Advanced Materials, working with and selling to Universities, Research Institutes, Design Engineers, Manufacturers, Academic & Commercial Research and Development Co’s, End Users and other similar types of customer.

 

Due to continued year on year growth we're recruiting for an additional member of our Sales Team. We are a friendly team who are passionate about providing an excellent standard of customer service and developing new business.

 

Package: Basic salary circa £31,000 OTE £35,650 + uncapped bonus)

 

Based in Tamworth Office, close to M42, with minimum five days travelling a month.

 

Product :  Scientific Equipment and Advanced Materials.

 

Job description:  Sales Executive / Technical Sales Executive

 

Our ideal candidate will have commercial sales experience and a scientific or technical background. They will take responsibility for a specific portfolio of Advanced Materials including, but not exclusively, sputtering targets and powders. You will have the drive to seek out new business as well as maintain and develop our existing customer accounts. Based primarily at our Tamworth Office you will be expected to spend at least five days a month visiting customers as well as additional days visiting suppliers and attending exhibitions.

 

Candidates must have a minimum two years proven track record in technical or scientific sales, ideally with degree level education in Materials Science, Chemistry or an associated discipline.

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

Drive sales growth from new and existing customers

 Building strong customer relationships to ensure you are their first choice.

 Maintain and develop current relationships with existing suppliers as well as establish new business connections.

 Present the Company to potential clients and suppliers through direct communication, face to face meetings, trade and pop-up exhibitions, telephone and emails.

 Feedback on supplier activities and suggest new innovations for the Company product portfolio.

 Liaising effectively with all departments within the company to ensure first class customer service and positive business development.

 Stay up to date with current research projects and trends.

 

 Person Specification:

 Minimum of two years experience in scientific or technical sales.

 Highly motivated, target-focussed with a pro-active, diligent approach to workload.

 A real desire to earn money.

 Excellent verbal communication skills and able to build relationships quickly.

 Attended customer sites and exhibitions.

 An enquiring mind and desire to stay up to date with current research and product developments.

 A sound knowledge of chemical formulae as well as metric and imperial units of measurement.

 Knowledge and experience of using web-based marketing tools, Microsoft Office and CRM databases.

 Full UK Driving licence and access to own vehicle - essential user allowance is payable.

 

The desirable skills are:

 Knowledge of Advanced Materials.

 Educated to degree level in Materials Science/ Metallurgy/ Chemistry/ related discipline.
