My Barnsley based client require a temporary Quantity Surveyor with a HNC in construction or equivalent to undertake a full time temporary position working Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm. The position will be based in the S70 area of Barnsley. Duties will include but not be exclusive to. Cost modeling which means preparation of cost estimates, budgets, cost planning, monitoring and control cost, as well as cost research. Contract documentation which include preparation of bills of Quantities and other tender documents, giving advice on tendering/bidding procedures, contractual arrangement and tender evaluation and analysis. Contract administration which means management of construction work and cost during the execution of the project. Project Management which means the co-ordination of the efforts of all the consultants and contractors from the inception of the project to completion in order to achieve desired result within predetermined time and cost frame work. Direct Labour project i.e. using in-house team/people. To execute a project rather than give it out to contractors. Arbitration in case of dispute between the project owner i.e. the client and the contractors. Giving expert witness in case of litigation.
