Procurement Officer - Portishead, Somerset & Avonmouth, Bristol (dual sites)

Fixed Term Contract - 12 month contract
Salary: £35,000 £38,000 per annum
Hours: 37 hours per week (Monday-Friday)

The Company

Our client provides emergency and protection services to the communities of Bath & North East Somerset, Bristol, North Somerset and South Gloucestershire.
They are looking to recruit an experienced Procurement Officer providing support to the Fleet & Technical Services Department.

The Role

The Procurement Officer will have overall responsibility for negotiating, managing and monitoring associated contracts.
You will be a subject matter expert and provide support and detailed specialist advice on all aspects of the procurement process to enable Managers to effectively manage contracts with suppliers. You will lead, co-ordinate and oversee formal regulated OJEU tenders, ensuring the diverse and complex procurement projects are appropriately planned and delivered. You will produce tender documentation for contracts, conduct analysis and evaluation and advise on the shortlisting and selection process.
The role requires significant attention to detail and accuracy to ensure required documents are completed correctly and there is a robust audit trail to support the decision making process.

Requirements

To be considered for this post you must be MCIPS qualified or possess an equivalent procurement/supplies degree. You will have significant experience of delivering complex procurement projects and the ability to interpret contract law and Public Contract Regulations.
You must have experience of drafting business cases and contracts, evaluation, analysis along with project and contract management. It is essential that you can quickly establish working relationships with the Fleet Managers and support them to ensure these essential contracts meet the Service requirements.
The role will involve some travel between sites and therefore a valid driving licence is required.
Security clearance to work at these premises will be required
This post is based at the Headquarters in Portishead, but you will also be required to work a number of days each week from the clients Avonmouth premises where the Fleet & Technical Services Department is based.
