Job description: Process Engineer / Production Engineer

 

Job Summary:

 

A leading global manufacturer of Fire Suppression and Safety Equipment in the Motorsport and Defence sectors are now recruiting for an innovative Process Engineer / Production Engineer to join their team in Coventry.

 

The successful applicant will demonstrate a wide range of skills to enable us to manufacture existing and new products more efficiently, with high levels of quality and repeatability. The role will also require a close working relationship with our production, technical & quality departments to ensure seamless transition from prototype to production.

 

Key Role Responsibilities:

 

The successful applicant should be able to demonstrate the following skills

 

·         Act as a point of liaison for engineering and manufacturing

·         Management of engineering change requests

·         Ability to produce engineering drawings in 2 & 3D, good CAD skills, understanding of MRP etc.

·         Ability to design & manufacture tooling, jigs and fixtures.

·         Develop manufacturing KPIs and the maintenance thereafter.

·         Identify manufacturing needs for new products in development

·         Design new systems and processes and provide facilities & methods to ensure the cost-effective integration of new products or for the improvement of existing ones into manufacturing operations

·         Ensure all product and system requirements are taken into account from the initial product conception to the finished result

·         Assist with shop floor layout and cell designs 

·         Generating production documentation such as assembly instructions

·         Reduce variability in manufacturing by providing standard work methods and work instructions

·         Ensure product and process quality meets specifications required

·         Maintenance and repair of tooling and machinery.

 

Skills and Experience:

 

-          The successful applicant will have a good understanding of the principles of Process Engineering and have previous experience in a Process Engineer / Production Engineer position.

 

-          Drive and enthusiasm to develop a strong understanding of the manufacturing processes and design principles used in the manufacture of the product.

 

-          Excellent and proficient technical skills in Process Engineering / Production Engineering.

 

-          Strong interpersonal and organisation skills to support the manufacturing processes to meet business targets and expectations, whilst delivering continuous improvement.

 

-          Excellent communication skills and a good team player.
