Elevation Recruitment Group are currently seeking a knowledgeable Senior Payroll Professional for a growing and well established business in Sheffield. This role will be reporting into the Financial Controller and you will be given full ownership for the payroll function and all related processes.

This will be a busy & varied role where you will be given the opportunity to really make an impact and improve payroll controls as and where you see fit. The successful candidate will be self-motivated, able to use their initiative, will feel confident in speaking with senior members of the business and won't be afraid to challenge new ways of working.

The business are looking to appoint an out-going, chatty and resilient individual who can work maturely with confidential data and really take ownership for this role!

Duties and Responsibilities:

*Provide management information regarding payroll, productivity and support to the Financial Reporting Accountant
*Responsible for running a weekly and a monthly payroll
*Work with the UK HR Team and successfully manage the implementation and roll out of a new payroll and T&A system
*Ensure accurate payment of employees according to the Company's deadline, and the Company's procedures
*Ensure the time and attendance system is maintained and updated with Public holidays etc. and training is provided whenever applicable
*Complete questionnaires from the DSS/other Government bodies in accordance with their enquiry
*Maintain holiday and sickness records
*Timely payments to relevant Authorities
*Weekly reporting as requested
*Ensure security of information and that relevant back-ups are undertaken
*Assist the Management Accountant in month end procedures
*Reconciliation of relevant deductions
*Continuous upkeep of internal payroll manual
*Maintain compliance with UK HMRC regulations
*Project work including paying a pivotal part in the implementation of a new system


Experience/Skills Required:

*At least 5 years' experience running a payroll for 200+ employees
*Ideally have experience of running a weekly payroll
*Manufacturing background (desirable)
*Accurate way of working
*Able to work independently
*Good organizational and communication skills
*Ability to work independently, use your initiative and ask questions where needed
*Confident individual who is not afraid to pick up the phone and speak to senior members of staff
*Experience of any system implementations would be advantageous
