Job purpose
To provide support in the day to day checking and analysis of payroll items, with inputting to payroll specific software. Providing advice and guidance to employees and managers and responding to all payroll related queries. Provide an excellent customer service, creating a positive and inclusive environment, to ensure timely and accurate provision of payroll
 
Key responsibilities
* Enter day to day data into payroll database (Starters, Leavers, Salary Adjustments)
* Transfer of business data into standard formats
* Calculations for adjustments to data within standard templates, including backpay, overpayments, holiday pay, maternity/paternity and sickness
* Taking ownership of a specific pay group or pay groups
* Work with the People Team and take ownership of additional payroll-related matters such as salary sacrifice schemes, Private Health Insurance
* Answering queries by email, phone and face to face
* Support and cover workload for other payroll coordinators during periods of holiday or absence.
* Providing advice and guidance to employees and managers regarding payroll matters
* Support employees and managers to understand Flybe's Payroll processes in relation to policies.
 
Emergency Response
* Being prepared to respond, in a crisis, as a People Team representative and maintaining knowledge of the emergency response programme policies, processes and procedures, as defined by the Emergency Response Programme Manual 
Health and Safety
* Understand individual operational safety and security responsibilities
* Be aware of personal health and safety and the health and safety of others at work 
Essential Skills and Qualifications 
* Excellent prioritisation and organisational skills
* Advanced use of Excel, Word and Outlook
* Experience of working in a complex payroll function, using payroll systems
* Sound knowledge of salary sacrifice principles and procedures
* Excellent attention to detail
* Ability to work across functions and support diverse business areas
* Experience of working in a fast-paced environment
* Positive can-do attitude with excellent inter-personal skills
* Minimum GCSE grade C or above in Mathematics and English 
Desirable Skills 
* Knowledge of ADP Freedom, ADP Streamline, and iTrent
