JOB TITLE: Medical Receptionist / Administrator
WORKING HOURS: Part Time 20 hours per week – Monday to Friday 2 pm - 6 pm week one and
week two Monday to Friday 3 pm - 7 pm – will also include holiday cover

THE COMPANY: Our client are a Doctors Surgery located in Stantonbury, Milton Keynes and provides the highest quality healthcare to patients in the Milton Keynes area. The surgery's doctors, nurses and all other staff are dedicated to offering a professional service and they now seek to appoint a new Part Time Medical Receptionist / Administrator to join their existing friendly team.

This would suit someone with good admin and organisational skills, and someone who has experience in a public or customer focused role.

THE ROLE: As a Medical Receptionist / Administrator you will work Monday to Friday 2pm to 6pm and then 3pm to 7pm the following week. The role may also require you to provide holiday cover which when required would be between the hours of 1pm to 7pm. You will be working with a team of Receptionists and Administrators. In addition to greeting and welcoming patients and sometimes being their first point of call at the surgery, you will also be a key part in providing administrative support in a variety of ways to support the day to day running of the Surgery. Typical duties will vary in what can sometimes be a fast paced and reactive environment but you will mainly be handling incoming general enquires via telephone, email and face to face, booking appointments and updating records, arranging prescriptions as well as providing admin support on an ad-hoc basis.

THE CANDIDATE: It would be beneficial for the Medical Receptionist / Administrator to have experience in a similar NHS or Practice setting but this is not essential, as for the right candidate, full training will be provided. You will need to have good organisational, administrative, and IT skills as well as experience in a public or customer focused role. Candidates will need to have good communication skills and due to being on the phone occasionally candidates will also need to hold a polite and clear telephone manner. In addition, candidates will need to take a flexible approach to tasks and working hours and provide occasional sickness and holiday cover. Candidates will also need to live within commutable distance to Stantonbury, Milton Keynes.

Key Experience/ Characteristics preferred for the Medical Receptionist / Administrator role in Milton Keynes :-

- Good organisational and admin skills essential
- Will need experience dealing with the public or working in a customer focused role
- Good IT Skills and experience using Microsoft Office required
- Will need to be an excellent communicator with polite and clear telephone manner
- Previous NHS or recent practice experience desirable but not essential
