JOB TITLE: Medical Receptionist
SALARY & BENEFITS: Competitive dependent on experience with benefits including 5 weeks holiday plus bank holidays (pro rata)
WORKING HOURS: Part Time 27.5 hours per week Monday to Friday

Our client are a Surgery based in Arundel, near Chichester who provide a range of services and clinics and now seek to appoint a new Medical Receptionist to join and work with their existing team of receptionists and primary health care team.
This would suit an individual with experience as an Administrator, Receptionist or Secretary in a busy fast paced role. The role will be 27.5 hours per week with potential overtime available.
THE ROLE: As a Medical Receptionist you will be an integral part of the practice and could be the first point of contact for patients looking to book appointments or who may have general enquires, so you will have a professional, friendly and helpful demeanour. You will be a key part in providing administrative support in a variety of ways to support the day to day running of the Practice. Typical duties will vary in what can be a fast paced and reactive environment but you will mainly be handling incoming enquires via telephone, email and face to face, will be booking appointments and updating records, an ensuring welcome areas are presentable and tidy for patients and visitors.
Key Duties for the Medical Receptionist role :-
When applicable open and prepare the premises for work in the morning and lock up and secure the premises at night or for the weekend
Greet patients and make appointments, register new patients, answer queries and give out information
Promptly deal with incoming calls and and queries and record messages
Deal with prescription requests by email, electronically, fax or in person
Update and manage records and extract medical records from filing system when required
Overseeing the waiting room and direct and help patients accordingly
Assist with a range of other admin and support duties
THE CANDIDATE: The successful candidate for the Medical Receptionist role will ideally have previous experience in a GP practice or similar NHS setting but this is not essential as training can be provided. What is essential is that you are a well organised individual who has worked in or has the ability to work a busy and fast paced environment, and will need to be someone who has a polite and clear telephone manner. In addition, candidates will need to have good IT skills, be great team players who can build good working relationships, and have the ability to provide excellent customer service to patients.
Key Experience/ Characteristics preferred for the Medical Receptionist role in :-
Ability to deliver excellent Customer Service essential
Good IT skills and ability to work/experience working in an admin or receptionist role
Must have a clear and polite telephone manner
Will need to live within commutable distance to Arundel (Chichester), West Sussex
Although not essential, candidates with previous experience in a Doctors Surgery, Medical or other NHS environment would be desirable
