Are you a creative person looking for a Media support job in Brighton?

Newsquest Media group are looking for a Media Support officer to join our Brighton Advertising sales team. You will have the opportunity to work with locally recognised papers such as The Argus and The Leader, and several glossy magazines. This is a full time, permanent, job working out of our Brighton offices as part of a very energetic sales team.

This job offers you the opportunity to be part of Newsquest Media Group; one of the largest regional media companies in the UK. What will you be doing as a Media Support Officer?

  • Chasing complete artwork from clients
  • Annotating adverts
  • Taking initial instructions and components from clients/reps
  • Proofing adverts to clients and arranging changes with them
  • Resolving with production and upload queries
  • Processing payments
  • Making bookings on Gemstone & Futureproof
  • Monitoring outstanding artwork and payments
  • Supplying digital results when requested
  • Updating Skin and Prime Positions schedules
  • Arranging layout changes with planners
  • Designing flatplans
  • Downloading national copy
  • Creating & monitoring spreadsheets
  • Assisting with local business events
  • Processing post
  • Exporting flatplans on PlanBuilder
  • Ability to work within strict deadlines 
  • Updating featured properties on the website 
  • Sending out voucher copies of the paper 
  • Creating and sending e-shots (inc targeting) 
  • Arranging for Property page-turners to be updated online 
  • Printing for Managers 
  • Liaising with editorial


Across the UK we have several Media Support Officers, and what has set them apart as an asset to the business is how they work with the team. This is an important role for the business, and you will be that go-to person in the office to help the business achieve its goals.


What we are looking for from you:

As a Media Support officer, you’ll need to be able to manage a busy, and very varied, workload. As well; you need to be comfortable working with a range of strict deadlines due to our Daily & Weekly title prints. You will need to be able to demonstrate to us that you are able to work in a very deadline driven role.

Due to the creative responsibilities of this role we are looking for someone who has an eye for detail and passion for media. Our current Media Support Officers do get involved in helping our advertising sales team creating adverts from scratch, and this job will be no different. As a result, we need you to be creative and comfortable in that environment. Having previously created print or digital adverts would be highly beneficial

With Newsquest being a multimedia business, you will need to have at the very least experience using Outlook, Word, PowerPoint and Excel to an intermediate/advanced level. If you have experience working with any CRM systems (Gemstone, Fieldglass, Salesforce etc) that would be advantageous.
