They are based at many sites across the city: from Moston and Harpurhey in the North to Wythenshawe and West Didsbury in the South, as well as several locations in the city centre. Each site has its own specialist, cutting edge facilities and resources within a friendly and supportive atmosphere.

This is an exciting opportunity for a Full Time Materials ModificationTechnician to manage the adapted materials production unit at the college. 

Within the role you will oversee the adaptation of materials to different formats e.g. Braille, large print, tape, disk, and CD, to meet the needs of learners and to support in additional learning support claims (ALS).

You will be required to investigate suitable equipment / software for the adaption of materials and to produce these materials for blind staff in the appropriate formats, in addition to managing staff involved in the production of the materials.  You must have the ability to work accurately and to strict deadlines when under pressure.

It is essential to have a Braille qualification coupled with previous experience in producing adapted materials to alternative formats electronically as listed above.  Candidates must also be educated to level 3 standard or above, including GCSE English and Maths as a minimum.  Computer skills should be a minimum of ECDL standard.
