I am currently assisting a highly regarded Criminal practice based in Blackburn that is looking to recruit a Publicly Funded/Legal Aid Costs drafter to work within this dynamic, forward thinking practice. The role involves carrying out their Legal Services Commission (LSC) costing duties and ensuring the files are cost complaint with the standards required for inspection by the LSC. The ideal candidate will have experience submitting the relevant bills online or manually to the LSC each month and ensure maximisation of costs each month, draft all publicly funded/legal at raining for assessment by the LSC and throughout the detailed assessment process at court, deal with any un-recognised payments on account issues and ensure compliance with the LSC standards. The successful applicant will have experience preparing/drafting legal aid bills for Police Station, Magistrates Court, Crown Court and Prison Law.
