IT Support Engineer - Darlington (Home and Office Based)

The Client

A leading global supplier of software systems for the management of dangerous goods is seeking an IT Operations Support Engineer to join their team. You will have in depth knowledge and/or experience of general IT support, cloud technologies and security best practices.

The Role

You will be a passionate and pragmatic IT specialist with experience supporting desktop, server and cloud based infrastructure. You will contribute to the ongoing deployment and support of the infrastructure and as well as implement security best practices. You will also have direct input into the design and adoption of new technologies. You will be a keen problem-solver, with the ability to investigate, understand and resolve issues (whether working alone or as part of a team) using strong communication skills and attention to detail.

Responsibilities:

Collaborating with other colleagues to troubleshoot issues relating to IT infrastructure, connectivity and security.

Contributing to the design, maintenance and support of Azure cloud based infrastructure.

Supporting the internal Microsoft 365 infrastructure from desktop to cloud.

Supporting the continuous development and adoption of internal applications such as CRM and Helpdesk

Support various teams by contributing to project based work - such as data migrations and setting up of cloud test environments.

Championing, implementing, documenting and testing security best practices throughout all aspects of the organisation.

Liaising with 3rd party suppliers, partners and customers in relation to technical requirements.

Documenting all internal IT applications and services, ensuring they are well maintained and that each has valid & up to date procedures at all times.

Previous Knowledge and ExperienceExceptional IT skills, capable of troubleshooting for critical systems.

2 years experience of IT infrastructure, server and cloud support

Experience of Azure planning, deployment and support.

Knowledge of IT Security Best Practices.

A pragmatic thinker who can effectively work in or with project teams delivering IT solutions.

Excellent communication, documentation and workflow skills.

An analytical and logical approach to problem-solving.

Excellent and proven customer service skills with a focus on the customers experience.

Flexible approach and a willingness to learn and apply new skills and technologies.

Experience providing technical and user-focused documentation.

Technical knowledge of:

MS Windows 10,

Server 2016/19,

Office 365,

Teams,

Sharepoint,

Intune

Exchange Online.

Virtualisation - HyperV/Azure

Active Directory and Microsoft core services, Group Policy, DNS and DHCP
