About the role
You will carry out balance sheet, compliance and procedural audits at Dealerships in accordance with specified audit programmes, ensuring compliance with Lookers Group policies and manufacturer requirements. You will ensure independence in protecting the Company and add value to the Group with identifying risk and helping to implement controls / procedures.
In addition to this you will, interrogate the DMS systems to highlight operator issues, as well as vat issues and handle ad-hoc and specific project work as assigned by the Group Internal Audit Manager. You will also provide a standby Accounts resource for businesses experiencing temporary vacancies, when having the appropriate knowledge.
The role will also include Identifying and recommending enhancements and improvements to controls, policies and procedures, both in the IT environment (using the DMS system) as well as the non-IT environment. You will ensure compliance with vat legislation, and liaise with and assist Lookers staff with improvement of the control / procedural environment.
This role is home based so ideally you will be located between Scotland and the North East. You will be required to travel to sites and ensure a presence on premises, this may include staying away to perform audits. Please know that the majority of initial assignments will be North East and Scotland based.
