In House Sales Executive  required for a company who are specialists in the sale of Scientific Equipment and Advanced Materials, working with and selling to Universities, Research Institutes, Design Engineers, Manufacturers, Academic & Commercial Research and Development Co’s, End Users and other similar types of customer.

Job description:  In House Sales Executive

 

Based in Tamworth, close to M42, we specialise in the sale of Scientific Equipment and Advanced Materials.  Due to increased business we have an exciting, opportunity for an In-House Sales Executive to support the Advanced Materials side of our business. The successful candidate will join our friendly, outgoing team who are passionate about providing an excellent standard of customer service and developing new business

 

You do not necessarily have to have sales experience, although this would be a benefit.

You should be looking to pursue a career in sales and either be a recent graduate or be a graduate with some B2B sales experience. Your degree should ideally be in the field of Chemistry, Physics or Material Science as there is a strong inorganic chemistry base to this role.   

 

We will work with you to develop your skills and train you to ensure you are confident to sell the products that you will have responsibility for. What is more important is that you have a proactive and self-motivated attitude and a willingness to learn.  You will need a professional and intelligent approach to work and be someone who is happy to use their own initiative as well as being an integral part of our team. 

 

As part of the Sales Team, you will be the initial point of contact for our advanced materials customers – you will provide office-based support for our existing Sales Execs as well as taking responsibility for your own product group.  Based at our Tamworth Office there will be the opportunity to attend exhibitions, supplier and customer visits. We actively support staff development and you will receive ongoing support through our Company coaching and mentoring programme.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Meet agreed sales growth and gross profit targets.
  • Manage your sales targets and pipeline
  • Generate new business sales leads and opportunities
  • Provide a quick and efficient response to customer enquiries for both your own and the other Sales Execs in your team.
  • Maintain and develop current relationships with existing customers and suppliers.
  • Work closely with all members of the Sales and Marketing team to ensure a cross flow of information.

Person Specification:

 

The ideal candidate will be a degree level scientist who is ambitious and committed to achieving high standards throughout their work. Your degree should ideally be in the field of Chemistry, Physics or Material Science as there is a strong inorganic chemistry base to this role.   

 

The essential characteristics and skills required are:

  • Highly motivated, target driven with a pro-active approach to workload
  • An enquiring mind and desire to stay up to date with product developments
  • Ability to communicate intelligently, confidently and professionally
  • An excellent telephone manner
  • An outgoing personality with strong organisational skills and a tenacious nature
  • Able to build relationships quickly and effectively with colleagues and business associates
  • Competent in the use of the Microsoft Office suite

 

The desirable characteristics and skills are:

  • A proven track record in B2B sales either face to face or telesales
  • Knowledge and experience of using CRM databases
  • Ability to complete web-based research using, for example, LinkedIn and ResearchGate
  • An additional European language
  • UK Driving licence and access to own vehicle – business mileage paid
