An excellent opportunity has now arisen for a motivated Housing and Tenancy Support Officer to join them in Luton. Within this role, you will provide a comprehensive, effective and varied housing service to residents, in accordance with the organisations policies and procedures.

 

You will be the main point of contact with Luton Borough Council, ensuring all key performance indicators are achieved in accordance with the Nominations Agreement and will take responsibility for the building and its tenants to ensure an effective service is being provided at all times.

 

In addition, you will assist the Income Collections Officer to manage the level of rent arrears and ensure effective collection of any rent arrears.  This will include regular monitoring of accounts, generation of correspondence, carrying out home visits, collecting rent and top ups, agreeing repayment methods and serving legal notices.

 

In order to be successful in this role, you should have excellent interpersonal and communication skills along with a positive attitude and ‘can do’ approach.  The ability to deal tactfully with difficult situations will be required and it is important that you have an understanding of different cultures and backgrounds.  Good IT skills (Word and Excel) will also be required.

 

Although not essential, previous experience or knowledge of the building trade/industry would be beneficial.

 

A clean UK driving licence is essential along with the ability to obtain enhanced clearance via PVG, Disclosure Scotland/CRB.
