Elevation Accountancy & Finance are currently recruiting for a Financial Crime Manager for a forward-thinking business based in the heart of Sheffield to join their informal, friendly yet professional team!

Working within a supportive environment; you will report into the COO in this role which will play a pivotal part in the next stage of their growth as a 21st century financial services company.

The role would be particularly suitable for someone with financial crime management experience in financial services, perhaps someone who would enjoy having a bigger impact in a smaller, faster-paced, less traditional financial services company.

Key Duties & Responsibilities:

Team Management:

●Provide leadership, guidance and motivation to the Financial Crime team (four direct reports) - ensuring that transaction monitoring and investigations are carried out with minimal impact upon genuine customers and that financial crime is managed efficiently and effectively

Policy and process:

●Develop, maintain and oversee crime policies, processes and business rules, including in the following areas:

-KYC checks
-AML and anti-fraud
-Transaction monitoring
-Sanctions checks
-PEP checks
-Disputes and chargebacks Liaison point

●Act as an internal expert and point of consultation for financial-crime-related queries, case reviews and escalations
●Manage the financial crime, AML and fraud relationship with card issuer and agency banking partner, acting as the first point of contact and an internal liaison and escalation point
●Manage the financial crime, AML and fraud relationship with third parties, including law enforcement agencies, managing and responding to requests as they arise

Reporting:

●Ensure adherence to JMSLG (Joint Money Laundering Steering Group) guidelines
●Implement appropriate internal reporting to ensure financial crime risk is monitored and understood across the company


Essential:

●Understanding and experience of financial crime management in financial services
●Strong team leadership skills with the ability to motivate others to deliver excellent results
●Understanding of processes, regulations and guidelines in the following areas:
-JMLSG (joint money laundering steering group) guidelines
-Know Your Customer (KYC)
-Sanctions and counter-terrorist-financing (CTF)

●Policy and process development skills
●Excellent written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to communicate and influence effectively at all levels of the business.
●Strong timekeeping and organisational skills, able to work under time pressure
●A determination to succeed and thrive on working in a fast-paced environment
●Good commercial awareness


Desirable:

●Experience in a multi-supplier environment
●Understanding and experience of supplier and relationship management in financial services
●Understanding of disputes and chargeback processes
●Understanding of cards and payments processes in financial services


Job details

●Salary: up to £43,000pa plus 10% bonus, subject to experience
●Flexibility to travel if required
