Finance Team Leader / AAT Level 2, required for a company who specialise in the sale of Scientific Research Equipment and Materials to commercial and academic customers. This role is Part time, 25 hours over 5 days per week.

Some flexibility on hours, so could be 9.30am to 2.30pm daily or similar.

Job description:  Finance Team leader

 

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Finance Team Leader to manage the Company Finance Department and support the directors in the financial management of the Company. The successful candidate will join our existing team who are passionate about continuing to push the business forward.

The Company has seen year on year increases in turnover and has invested in a customised Sage 200 system to streamline the accounting processes as well as give immediate, detailed and accurate financial reporting. The new Finance Team Leader will be responsible for ensuring the system is kept up to date by auditing the other Accounts clerks’ work, reconciling bank accounts and completing end of period audits. They will be driven to ensure their department works cohesively, accurately and the staff within it feel well supported.

Key Responsibilities

·         Finance Department management: Manage, appraise and mentor the finance team, produce the departmental development plan; manage the department budget and update the departmental handbook;

·         Review the accounts processes and ensure tasks are completed efficiently.

·         Train and support existing and new Company staff to utilise Sage 200 system.

·         Maintain and develop the Sage 200 system.

·         Audit inputted information, reconcile bank accounts.

·         Liaise with the Company Directors and Company Accountant to monitor company cash flow, costs and produce management, director and end of period reports.

·         Provide credit control support.

·         Complete EC Sales and VAT returns.

·         Make payments to suppliers

·         Run the Company PAYE and Sales Incentive Scheme

·         Work with the Senior Management Team to set and monitor budgets,

Person Specification:

The ideal candidate will be a confident and ambitious individual who is dedicated to achieving excellent standards throughout their work. They will have at least two years experience in an accounts role that has included import/export, multi-currency payments and the management of staff. The candidate will have a drive to develop their financial management skills and have high expectations of their department.

·         Highly motivated with a pro-active, diligent, well-organised approach to their workload

·         Have a reflective approach to their work and a desire to implement changes that benefit the company and the processes used within the finance department

·         Excellent communication skills

·         Strong intrapersonal skills and the ability to build relationships quickly to support our existing staff and finance contacts as well as those new to the Company

·         Able to work well under pressure, be adaptable and to manage change

·         Able to competently use Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel and Sage Accounts packages

·         Have AAT Level 2 as a minimum or have completed equivalent accredited training

The desirable characteristics and skills are:

·         Experience of using Sage 200 including designing new reports and use of Business Intelligence

·         Able to write training material and deliver training on the finance systems

·         Experience of submitting VAT returns, EC Sales reports

·         Ability to run Company Payroll and Sales Incentive Scheme

·         Experience in producing Management reports, Cash Flow reports and monitoring budgets
