They are a leading specialist supplier of IT Business Solutions to prestigious customers in a wide range of industries including telecommunications, manufacturing, financial services, retail and professional services. Reporting to the Managing Director, this is a key operational role overseeing the day-to-day accounting function for the business. This is an all-encompassing finance role, working within an SME environment, with responsibility for all the financials including, monthly invoicing, cash collections, monthly management accounts, KPI's, performance analysis, annual financial reporting, annual budget cycle and monthly rolling forecasts.

The ideal candidate will need to be a motivated individual, capable of using their own initiative, working independently and/or as part of a team and will have demonstrable experience of managing and developing the month end process, budgeting, cash flow management, forecasting, analysis and reporting.

Essential skills
- ACA, CIMA or ACCA Or Qualified by experience
- Proven work experience as a Finance Manager in SME businesses
- Experience of Management / Financial Accounting
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Able to work remotely and independently

Desirable skills
- Able to think strategically and deliver project goals
- A high standard of organisational and time management skills
- Attention to detail
- Previous experience of QuickBooks
- Be able to communicate effectively at all levels
- Good interpersonally and have previous staff management experience
- Comfortable presenting information both verbally and in written form

Responsibilities include, but not limited to:
- Prepare and monitor the day-to-day financial operations within the company, such as payroll, invoicing, timesheets, expenses and other transactions
- Oversee a small financial team
- Track the company's financial status and performance to identify areas for potential improvement
- Prepare quarterly VAT return
- Prepare monthly and annual reports
- Establish and maintain financial policies and procedures
- Understand and adhere to financial regulations and legislation
- Monitor and report on key performance measures to the business monthly, such as pipeline revenue, actual revenue and direct costs, against budget and forecast
- Full reconciliation and control of the Balance Sheet
- Producing high quality inputs into the year-end statutory accounts and liaison with external accountants/auditors
- Stay up to date with technological advances and accounting software
