Friday Media Group Head Office is based just in Sayers Common, Brighton and we also have offices in Preston, Barcelona and Miami.

Experienced accountant responsible for producing the monthly management accounts to a very high standard within agreed timeframes for reporting to our key stakeholders. Right candidate will work closely with other members of the finance team and other stakeholders.

  • Manage the production of the group consolidated monthly management accounts

  • Analyze and provide commercial commentary on actual variances against budget and forecast

  • Adhere to the monthly timetable for the management accounts team

  • Management of a small team

  • Prepare and review the monthly prepayments, accruals, fixed assets, provisions, commissions and other relevant P&L / BS schedules to a high standard and post monthly journals

  • Review all monthly balance sheet reconciliations produced by the team

  • Liaise effectively with other areas of finance collating and providing the necessary information (e.g. FD, senior management, Business analyst, credit control)

  • Prepare monthly VAT reconciliations and submit quarterly VAT returns

  • Provide necessary information for year-end audit and corporation tax returns

  • Assist in preparation of annual budget and quarterly reforecast

  • Assist in other ad-hoc projects as requested by the FD

  • Provide cover for other members of staff as and when required

Requirements:

  • Extensive industry accounting and team management experience

  • ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualified

  • Previous consolidation experience

  • Strong Excel skills

  • Strong systems knowledge, NetSuite is preferable

  • Experience of working in a SME environment is preferred

  • Experience of acquisitions and integrations is preferred

  • Ability to produce accurate, robust and reliable information which is consistent across the business

  • Trust and confidentially with access to information

  • Excellent mathematical, written and verbal communication skills

  • Excellent time and project management skills

  • Ability to meet targets in a high-pressured environment
