Finance Assistant – Sales Ledger EBOR74726

Our client is a multi-academy trust serving children aged 2 to 16.  It is their aspiration to develop geographical hubs of schools that share their values and they have already made significant strides in achieving this aim. 

They have fantastic modern offices based on the outskirts of York with free parking.  They offer employees excellent development opportunities (funding for professional qualifications will be considered) and the chance to join a growing, value driven employer and a friendly and supportive team. 

As a Finance Assistant with them, you will be responsible for completing bank reconciliation, raising sales invoices and ensuring prompt payment from customers.   

Posting receipts and payments from their bank accounts to the PS Financials accounting system and raising sales invoices for external and internal customers, you will reconcile sales ledger and ensure that payments are received for all monies outstanding in a timely way.  Supporting the Finance Manager and Finance Director in completing transactional finance functions including purchase ledger and other accounting transactions, you will deliver a professional and timely service to all schools in the Trust and update and maintain the cashflow forecast model.

With a background of working in a financial environment and knowledge of basic accounting, including double entry, candidates will be capable of using financial software and have strong written and verbal skills.  Good Excel skills are required, and you must be self-motivated, organised and have a high attention to detail.
