Description
A manufacturing company based in the West Lothian area is seeking to recruit a Finance Analyst to join their successful business. This hands-on role decision support role is in-bedded within the manufacturing business and is focussed on supporting the operational team. Key duties will include material and product costing, inventory management and manufacturing accounting. This is an exciting opportunity that will suit someone with a proactive and solution based approach who can clearly demonstrate their ability to add value from both a financial and operational perspective.
Although supported by the wider Finance function this is a stand alone role which will have responsibility in the following areas:
- Provision of accurate cost data (by product and business area) and detailed variance analysis
- Managing standard costing for all products and materials
- Daily and weekly costing and manufacturing reporting including the provision of key metrics, variance analysis and commentary
- Inventory management and reconciliations including management of obsolete stock, scrap etc.
- Management of the full month end reporting cycle for manufacturing
- Leading the budgeting and forecasting process for manufacturing and reporting on variations
- Ensuring accurate and appropriate duty and freight charges are applied to business units
- Advising the Manufacturing Management team on efficiencies and process improvement
- Data modelling, scenario planning and investment appraisal analysis as required
- Involvement in year end audit activity as required
The role will be expected to promote best practice within the manufacturing area and will be required to provide decision support to the manufacturing management team. To be considered for the role you will be able to demonstrate the following skills and experience.
- Strong knowledge of costing ideally gained within a manufacturing environment
- A professional finance qualification or currently studying towards a qualification
- Previous experience in a hands on, autonomous role
- Excellent communication and influencing skills
- Knowledge of ERP system(s)
- Understanding of duty/freight would be advantageous
- Knowledge of transfer pricing would be advantageous
