Our client is first and foremost an organisation responsible for delivering government policy on disclosure and barring functions. They are a Non-Departmental Public Body (NDPB) accountable to Parliament through the Secretary of State for the Home Office.
They play a vital role in safeguarding the most vulnerable in society through the provision of criminal record information enabling employers and voluntary organisations to make safer recruitment decisions and ultimately by barring those individuals considered to pose a significant risk in specific workforces.
An excellent opportunity has now arisen for an Executive Assistant to join them at their office in Liverpool.
Within this role, you will be responsible for providing full day-to-day executive administrative support to the Chief Operating Officer. As first point of contact, you will be in a high-profile position demanding the highest standards of efficiency, professionalism and confidentiality.
Positive and with a flexible approach, you will be the focal point for planning and scheduling work, diary and email management, and meeting organisation and support. You will be expected to effectively manage all incoming communications, dealing promptly and courteously to any telephone calls, emails, post etc.
Proactively managing diary and appointments, you will also co-ordinate travel and accommodation arrangements as well as dealing with financial matters on behalf of the COO, including expenses submissions and reconciliations, raising of requisitions and invoice processing.
In order to be successful in this role, you will have demonstrable experience of working as an Executive Assistant supporting Senior Managers at Director/Executive level in a busy, highly pressured environment. With experience of managing competing priorities, you should also have the ability to think ahead and anticipate needs before they arise.
With exceptional written and verbal communication skills, you will have strong attention to detail and the ability to identify and filter/summarise key information from briefs and reports.
Demonstrable experience of minute-taking and competent IT skills are also important, and you will be proficient in the use of Microsoft Office packages. Flexibility in working pattern to assist with business needs is also essential.

Once a provisional offer is issued you will be required to complete the DBS Basic Check yourself online. Guidance on how to complete this will be issued at the provisional offer stage. A DBS check costs £25 which will need to be paid by the applicant (only after they have been successful at interview). Once this is complete, along with Home Office clearance and satisfactory reference checks, we will issue a formal offer. This £25 can then be claimed back through expenses in your first week of employment.
