Dealership Accountant

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Dealership Accountant for a Battersea and Morden Volkswagen dealership locations. Reporting to the Head of Operational Accounting, you will be responsible for overseeing all financial administrative activities across the brand across both sites. You will also be responsible for providing robust and accurate financial reports.

In addition, you will be responsible for the supervision of the Assistant Accountant for our West London Skoda dealership location. Travel is required between all three sites as well as the Central Accounts office in Knaphill, Surrey.

  • Review final accounts and highlight variances from budget and prior year with management team
  • Ensure the production of all statutory information accurately and to the specified deadlines
  • Assist in the production of the year end pack and liaison with internal and external auditors
  • Oversee and manage the cash flow and Treasury requirements of the business and produce reports, as required, for management.
  • Assist in developing annual business plans and producing capital project proposals
  • Advise colleagues on business forecasts and the financial impact of management decisions on thebusiness
  • Maintain standards of performance and conduct, dealing with lapses in line with company policy and directives
  • Ensure all aspects of company IT infrastructure is maintained and fully functioning

About you

  • An experienced Accountant with relevant qualifications
  • Experience in working with Kerridge is desirable
  • Prior experience in Motor Trade accounting is essential
  • Conscientious and demonstrates a high attention to detail while maintaining accurate records
  • Strong MS Excel skills and the ability to use these to reconcile data in an efficient manner
  • Ability to work well under pressure, handle conflicting demands, and schedule work appropriately
  • As this position is extremely demanding you should be enthusiastic, flexible, committed and able to work on your own initiative
