Data Analyst – Competitive Salary + Benefits – Exeter, Devon

The Role

We now have an exciting opportunity to join our growing and dynamic team based in our Exeter office as a Data Analyst. Sitting within our AI team and reporting directly to the CTO, the successful candidate will be responsible for the delivery of detailed analysis of data and imagery through our software. The role will work collaboratively across external and internal functions to identify and refine data requirements, plan and execute analysis and support the understanding of the results.

You will be reporting to customers to strengthen the product value and maintain our strong position in the market so excellent communication skills are required. You can demonstrate an ability to clearly and concisely communicate the feasibility, time-lines, caveats, assumptions, quality elements, results and meanings of data analysis, with experience of presentations and embedding data into written reports, or other documentation, as well as being highly organised.

The key responsibilities of a Data Analyst include, but are not limited to:

  • Working with internal and external customers to comprehensively capture and document data and image analysis requirements
  • Defining appropriate methodologies and models to extract and analyse data required, providing critical appraisal of potential data quality or anomalies that could affect analysis
  • Performing data analysis to meet agreed objectives, providing data reports and summarising results and meanings to customers in a clear, unambiguous and easy to digest manner
  • Developing and maintain systems to track, report and build on data requests as they are submitted, working closely with the AI team to inform solution road-maps
  • Supporting product innovation through seeking and initiating innovative growth opportunities and supporting the evaluation of innovation concepts through data analysis and insights
  • Improving customer perception of the value of our solutions and services through the timely delivery of data and reports to support case resolution

The key skills and qualities of a Data Analyst:

  • Experience of data analysis, modelling and interpretation in a business analysis or data analytics role; experience of programming or statistical languages, machine learning and/or algorithm development is highly desirable but not essential
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, as well as a methodical approach and attention to detail in a fast-paced environment
  • Mathematically minded, with experience of computing languages such as SQL, SQL Server, SSRS, SSIS, SSAS and Excel
  • Confident in communicating with people of all levels, both internal and external, verbally and through written reports
