Customer Service Representative - Portsmouth Based - 14.5k salary - Monday to Friday

Our Client in the UK was originally established by the owner of the world-famous American Company, based in Minnesota in the northern USA .
They are a $600m+ global business and has been trading since 1981
Our client continues to grow, and since opening our UK operation in 2000, they have provided tools and equipment to the UK market, and have already despatched hundreds of thousands of orders to customers across the UK.
We stock a huge range of high-quality professional tools and equipment, which we sell directly via our mail order catalogues and from the website
Whether you are a mechanic or a master carpenter, our warehouse, full of thousands of tools and equipment, is bound to contain something for you. And because of the low-cost mail order method of business, all products are sold at the best trade prices available.
The UK offices are in Portsmouth, Hampshire, where their mail order catalogues are produced and where the sales and customer services teams are based. They hold the vast majority of stock in our huge Distribution Centre in Dumfries, Scotland enabling them to receive, process and dispatch your orders immediately.
Person Specification
Experience in a busy office environment handling inbound and some outbound calls is essential
Positive, motivated and enthusiastic individual who enjoys being part of a team and can show a flexible approach to helping the teams succeed.
Resilient personality : able to handle and resolve issues calmly and effectively
Able to investigate and make decisions on general customer enquiries within defined area of responsibility
Calm, mature attitude. Empathy with our customer base (mainly blue collar)
Able to provide technical advice and support to internal and external customers
Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office applications
Role Profile
Handling general inbound after-sales enquiries
Advising customers on procedures for returns/refunds/credits in line with company policy
Handling technical enquiries from customers on the phone and subsequent investigation
Trouble shooting where appropriate in order to assist customers in the use of our products.
Processing administrative claims with suppliers and carriers as required
Trouble shooting where appropriate in order to assist customers in the use of our product, thereby avoiding unnecessary returns
Liaising with vendors regarding technical information and specifications.
Ad-hoc administration tasks as required
Working hours
The successful candidate will work Monday - Friday 9am to 5pm. No weekends or evenings.
Package details
Basic salary £14.5k
20 days holiday per year + public holidays
You must be eligible to live and work in the UK to be considered for this role.
