The Job:
The job holder will be required to implement the claims strategy and proactively manage a claims workload. They will make timely decisions to settle claims for customers in a fair and reasonable way. They will receive all the necessary support and guidance to manage claims to the benefit of the customer and the Company. They will be expected to be customer focused and take responsibility for identifying and actively participating in their personal development plans. 

Key responsibilities:  As a Claims Handler You Will Be
Providing a good quality customer service and ensuring claims decisions are made in a timely, fair and reasonable way
Responsible for consistently maintaining high levels of service delivery and customer engagement and contribute to ensure personal, team and department KPIs and SLAs are met
Assessing claims by demonstrating an understanding of policy wording on products to be able to communicate any decisions
Appointing litigators by demonstrating an understanding of the working together document and its key principles; freedom of choice and the benefits of using our preferred firms and how the different handling models operate.
Ensuring all communication internally and externally is clear, accurate and customer friendly, using the appropriate format and tone; ensuring solicitors are instructed in accordance with our policy terms and conditions and that claims sent to solicitors are managed efficiently and effectively.
Responsible for understanding what constitutes a complaint and act swiftly to resolve with the aim of rebuilding the customer relationship.
Identifying when escalation is necessary and to whom, ensuring relevant information is provided to enable discussion/decision making along with suggestions/views on how to proceed
Understanding the principles of influencing others with some ability to use negotiation techniques
Proactive in identifying situations where a decision is required to act promptly

The Person:
As an experienced Claims Handler you will be able to demonstrate ideally a minimum of 6 months experience in a claims environment, strong customer focus, good customer service and an understanding of its impact, strong prioritisation skills, the ability to communicate at all levels and in all formats in a clear, practical and informative way, the ability to deliver high quality performance against challenging KPIs and SLAs, a desire to improve and take ownership of your own personal development; and an aptitude to work with different computer and telephony packages

The Benefits:
In addition to the competitive basic salary offered for this role you will receive; 22 days holiday, Pension, Contributory personal pension, employees contribute a minimum of 2.5% and company will contribute 6% Plus: Legal Expenses Insurance cover, Home Assistance or Motor Breakdown cover, Life Assurance Cover, Group Income Protection, Childcare Voucher Scheme, Cycle Scheme, discounted Gym Membership.  Along with a superb working environment and ethos.

The Hours: Monday – Friday 9am – 5pm, 35 hours per week
The Location: Central Bristol, no car parking
The Salary: £18,000 – £20,000 DOE
