Job Details
Salary: £23-26,500 basic salary, per annum, plus bonus
Contract Type: Permanent, Full-Time
Working Hours: Mon-Fri, 9am-5.30pm (flexibility required)
Location: Heathrow, Cargo Point

Role Purpose
To be responsible for the retention and growth of profitable revenues from each customer within the assigned portfolio of Accounts spending between £50k and £150k. To be responsible for all courier customers, acting as the subject matter expert for Sales with this product and delivering both retention and growth from this specific market segment.
Responsibilities
Sales
To achieve budgeted revenue target for assigned portfolio. Visit customers in accordance with agreed KPI.
Pre-plan visit objectives with a view to obtaining new business, retaining existing business, ensuring customer satisfaction and loyalty or resolving customer problems.
Summarise and agree resulting action points and deadlines with the customer.
Gather a full picture of business opportunities to be able to work with Revenue Management to evaluate and formulate a proposal back to the customer with the appropriate justification and within the required timeframes.
Renegotiate customer rates and PBs to include monthly monitoring and inline with agreed KPI.
Management of all VEX courier accounts and contribution to development of overall sales strategy to maximise revenue opportunities from the courier product in conjunction with UK Regional Sales Manager.
Work with courier Ground Handling Agent to understand product business flows and follow up on leads and opportunities.
Plan selling time to cover geography and volume of customers in most effective way.
To represent the Company at promotional functions within and occasionally outside normal office hours.
Administration
Establish and continually verify account information in the areas of key contacts and roles and other relevant information (such as demographics), ensuring this is fed back to the business in a timely fashion.
Maintain accurate and up to date personal records of the customer portfolio and call plan.
Complete comprehensive visit reports for every significant customer interaction submitting all relevant details on a weekly basis for the production of the Weekly Sales Activity Report.
Produce sales leads for Virgin Atlantic Cargo overseas offices in an agreed format and provide feedback on incoming sales leads in a timely fashion.
Customer Service
Where appropriate, communicate and delegate action points arising from customer visits to colleagues, supervisors or department heads.
Clearly explain customer expectations in terms of deadlines and requirements.
Introduce customers and commercials to Virgin Atlantic Cargo through personally co-ordinated familiarisation visits to the Sales Offices incorporating representation from other key departments.
Requirements
Broad knowledge and experience of cargo would preferable but isn't essential
Strong negotiating & presentation skills
Excellent communication skills
Acting with confidence to withstand adversity and thrive in a variety of situations.
Self-reliant, being able to work with minimal guidance.
The role-holder needs to be able to quickly establish strong, trusting relationships with both internal/external customers.
Strong numerical skills and capability to translate data into actions within a commercial environment
Full UK Driving Licence
Comprehensive knowledge of Microsoft office packages

The hours are 9am-5.30pm although the jobholder will need to be flexible working outside of hours
There will be travel associated with the role, primarily domestic. The jobholder may be away from his/her normal place of work for a few days at a time.
