Vacancy: Cadet Administrative Assistant 

Location: Based at Queen Elizabeth Barracks, Strensall, near York 

Salary & Benefits: £23,780 per annum (subject to a pay review) additional benefits include 25 days annual leave rising to a maximum of 30 days after 5 years and a company pension scheme

Hours: Full time, Permanent- some flexibility around working hours will be required due to the nature of the role

The Company: The Reserve Forces' & Cadets' Association (RFCA) in Yorkshire & The Humber is an independent, community-based organisation with the responsibility of advising and assisting the Defence Council on issues concerning 3,000 reservists and more than 8,500 cadets in the region. With its headquarters in York, the RFCA helps to promote and support the Reserve Forces and Cadets across the region, and by harnessing the extensive knowledge and experience of its membership, works to build relationships and increase understanding between military and civilian communities. 

There is currently an excellent opportunity for a Cadet Administrative Assistant to join the team on a full time basis. 

Key Roles & Responsibilities: Cadet Administrative Assistant - Strensall, near York

• Administrative support to all companies using the CTC or deploying elsewhere
• The coordination of maintenance (Works Services) of all buildings, stores, ranges, utilities and real estate 
• Receive, consolidate and submit all training areas, facilities and transport bids 
• Maintain a manual ammunition account and have daily responsibility for the management and security of ammunition stores within the County
• Account, and be responsible for all manual accounts, back-loading of stores and equipment as required
• Collate, reconcile and circulate where necessary all catering documents and monies owed
• Attendance at the County Annual Camps to provide administrative and equipment support
• Attendance as required at weekend activities to assist in administrative duties as necessary

Criteria for the Administration Officer role: Cadet Administrative Assistant - Strensall, near York

• Military service experience at Warrant Officer/SNCO / Regiment Quartermaster/CQMS or equivalent 
• Hold a full driving licence (Essential)
• IT Literate with the ability to use Microsoft Word and Excel ( Essential)
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal 
• Ability to work accurately to deadlines 
• Team player
