Business Controller - Selby, Yorkshire

Salary: Up to £45,000 depending on experience. Permanent full-time position.

The Company

Our client is a market leading manufacturer with a global presence. They have a proven growth track record and are seeking a Business Controller to help facilitate the next stage of their growth.

The Role

To be responsible for actively measuring and steering the business performance and triggering corrective action where needed to reach the strategic short and long term goals of the company. Including the preparation of timely and correct management information and analysis, supporting the management team in their day-to-day decision making.

Role Responsibilities:

• Month end reviews and KPI reporting;
• Financial information for decision making (ST & LT) ;
• Measuring and steering business performance;
• Production KPIs and operational site efficiencies;
• Customer profitability analysis and monitoring;
• Maintaining integrity of costing systems and financial (IT) systems;
• Prepare/evaluate CapEx business cases maintain compliance on CapEx procedures;
• Annual budget and any re-forecasts;
• Business partner to operational / commercial teams;
• SAP key user and advocate for `lean working` and best practise.
• Ad-hoc projects as required.


Essential Skills & Requirements:

• Professional Qualified Accountant (CIMA/ACCA);
• Advanced user of spreadsheets (VLookups, Pivot Tables, etc.);
• SAP accounting software experience is a must;
• Experience of preparation of monthly accounts;
• At least 3 years of business controlling experience in a production environment;
• Working knowledge other finance functions such as GL, sales & purchase ledgers;
• Full UK driving licence.
