A Business Analyst is required with knowledge and experience of analysing sales and forecasting data for a major retailer/manufacturer based in Milton Keynes. This is a brand new role and one which offers real scope to develop over time.


• Knowledge in Retailers business systems and procedures POL, IR is required.
• Advanced knowledge Windows PowerPoint, Excel, and Word programs.
• Analytical ability to translate complex data into concise business issues/opportunities
• Self-Motivated individual with the ability to sustain a consistent High Level of service across all relevant departments.
• Good organisational skills
• Ability to forecast based on current or historical POS trends
• Detail oriented

Key Result Areas and Activities

• Item Analysis
• Communicate with recommendations to retailer for improving low instock percentages and/or lower inventory items at store level.
• Review replenishment order trends and weekly fill rates and determine if they match rate of sale.
• Work with Inventory Management to identify Item availability issues.
• Calculate accurate items forecast and compare to retailers internal forecast (make ordering system recommendations where needed).
• Communicate to Account manager of any issues found from the above.
• Ensure a strong innovation pipeline that meets consumer needs.
• Maintain the companys Internal item-level forecast ladders.


• Analyse Shipping Forecasts vs. Retailer Actual POS.
• Analyse weekly forecast with POS trend and make recommendations to retailers supply/replenishment team as needed
• Analyse POS for .com website, reporting sell through to Sales Director
• Analysing “Store Of the Community” opportunities, driving sales by customizing replenishment strategies by retail locations to carry more weeks of supply for those specific stores with higher sales volume

Retail Internal Forecasting

• Drive change where and as needed within own region/customers domain in the process of establishing global MGA standards and best practices
• Be the champion of collaboration among sales, marketing, demand planning, finance, and supply planning
• Represent own region/customers as the lead from SOp process perspective, identify sku-customer-location-month level demand/supply issues and drive through resolution on a monthly rolling basis
• Generate and own 18 month rolling demand plan working in conjunction with rest of demand planning tea, sales team, marketing team, finance, and operations
• Act as a subject matter expert(SME) from systems utilisation perspective and business knowledge perspective being able to walk cross functional team members and senior management through top-level and bottom level demand and supply
• Create system recommendations where needed to improve instocks
• Identify TV launches and submit system recommendations
• Pull weekly demand and compare retailers orders to forecast.
• Ensure forecasts are in line with trend; upcoming features are forecasted
• Create new trends indicators and recommend correct Seasonal Profiles


• Experienced in sales analysis, Modular Analysis, and Inventory Replenishment
• Bachelors degree in Business Administration, Analytics or similar
• Advanced knowledge of Power Point, Excel, and Word
• Analytical ability to translate complex data into concise business issues/opportunities
• Self-Motivated individual with the ability to sustain a consistent high level of service across all relevant departments.
