Assistant Consultant (Paraplanner)

Location: North Finchley, London

Salary: circa £45,000 per annum DOE

Our client is a well-established financial planning business based in North Finchley. They provide investment advice, pension and protection planning to both corporate and individual clients including investment planning and portfolio management, retirement planning, inheritance tax planning, protection planning, corporate financial planning.
Our client is looking for an experienced Assistant Consultant to assist two Consultants. The successful candidate must understand the structure of pension, investments and life products and be willing to learn and understand more complex financial products. The ideal candidate will be a team player, have strong attention to detail as well as the confidence to positively challenge and communicate effectively at all levels. Also, the ideal candidate will either be Chartered or have the willingness to become Chartered.

Main role requirements

Liaising with clients
Arranging investment purchases and sales
Attend and contribute to client meetings
Undertake research as required on specific projects
Preparation of reports to clients
Preparation of packs for meetings including investment valuations

Key Skills

Technical knowledge is a pre-requisite.
Diploma in Regulated Financial Planning level 4 is a minimum
Good academic track record highly desirable
Solid generalist experience within the Professional or Financial Services sector
Strong organisational skills required
Good working knowledge of systems such as Intelligent Office (database), Excel, Word, Financial Express Analytics, Intelliflo client management system, Cofunds and Standard Life Wrap
Numerate and familiar with operating and creating spreadsheets
Comfortable preparing detailed letters and comprehensive reports
Well-spoken and comfortable dealing with a wide range of individuals including clients and other professionals, maintaining at all times the highest degree of integrity and confidentiality.

The successful candidate will need to meet all of the above requirements and testing will be part of the interview process.
