We are seeking a temporary Assistant Company Secretary for a period of 12-18 months, reporting directly to the Head of Legal & Company Secretary and based in the Group's modern headquarters in the centre of Leeds.

Together with the permanent Assistant Company Secretary, you will guide the Chairman and Board on their responsibilities, ensuring the Board and the Executive Committees function efficiently and effectively.  You will manage Board and Executive meetings from start to finish; drafting agendas, preparing and distributing board and meeting backs, taking minutes and managing action log. You may also be responsible for managing the Board and Committee review process, drafting Board papers as required, and organising the AGM. 

In addition, you will maintain statutory records and ensure that business complies with all applicable codes, in addition to its legal and statutory requirements, monitoring changes to legislation and advising the Board accordingly. 

With demonstratable experience of working within Company Secretarial department and excellent stakeholder engagement and influencing skills, you will have no problem managing board and committee meetings; setting agendas, taking minutes and producing follow-up actions. With strong technical knowledge of corporate governance, you will be ICSA qualified (or part qualified).
