About the role

We are looking for an Assistant Accountant to join our centralised accounts department based in Tonbridge. You will report to the Divisional Accountant and Financial Controller. The role will require you to work to set procedures on daily, weekly and monthly cycles, working closely with Sales Admin and Line Managers as appropriate carrying out weekly and monthly reconciliations to produce relevant management reports in line with group and brand standards.

Working closely with the Divisional Accountant, we are looking for someone to work closely with the team to complete the accounts in a timely manner each month. We require someone with the knowledge to take the accounts to management accounts level and ability to work with the team to deliver accounts accurately.

  • Full balance sheet recs on a monthly basis.
  • Submitting Monthly composites.
  • Assist in preparing month end Management accounts.
  • Assist in Year-end process and preparing Management accounts.
  • Resolve any on site accounts queries & issues.
  • Make sure all accounts are completed by set deadlines
  • Carry out vehicle stock checks twice a year

About you

  • Prior experience within a dealership or wider franchise is preferred
  • The ideal candidate will have Kerridge experience
  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills & the ability to reconcile data in an efficient
  • manner
  • Ability to work well under pressure, schedule work appropriately and show
  • initiative to improve procedures where appropriate
  • Can work successfully in pressurised situations & can handle conflicting demands
  • Can learn to work with new software quickly & efficiently & is enthusiastic,
  • flexible & committed
  • Strong attention to detail and reconciliation skills to meets deadlines without
  • compromising the quality of work
  • Exemplary communications skills and discreet with confidential and sensitive
  • information
