Elevation Accountancy & Finance are currently recruiting for a business based in Barnsley. They are currently seeking a determined and ambitious Assistant Accountant to work within their successful team.
The role of the Assistant Accountant will be to engage in and manage day to day financial transactions within the business as well as providing regular support to the accounting team weekly and during the month end reporting process.
Duties will include:
*Prepare and post prepayments and accruals *Reconcile and action inter-company purchase and sales ledger accounts *Setup new suppliers on the system *Assistance with budgeting process *Reporting on debtors and creditors *Post and reconcile cashbook transactions *Code nominal ledger purchase and sales invoices *Provide cover for purchase ledger/ payroll and sales ledger accounts staff *Collect and collate information from invoices for reporting purposes *Run weekly overdue reports in conjunction with finance staff *Action inventory change requests *Maintain sales and purchase ledger accounts *Maintain weekly accounting and KPI reports *Any other tasks as deemed necessary by the finance manager *Adhere to code of business conduct and ethics
To be successful for this role you will have the following:
*Strong IT skills able to run, manipulate and calculate spreadsheets *ACCA/CIMA Part-Qualified *Must be a team player and possess high levels of integrity *Ability to work under pressure, to tight deadlines and flexible with respect to working hours *Committed to a continuous improvement philosophy *Self-starter and action-oriented *Willing to challenge norms and suggest new ideas
