JOB TITLE: Admissions Registrar / Administrator
SALARY & BENEFITS: £28,000-£32,000 (FTE £33,000-£38,000)
WORKING HOURS: Full Time Monday to Friday - The post is for a 37.5 hour week for 39 weeks of the year (+24 days paid holiday)
THE COMPANY: Our client is independent day and boarding school for girls and boys aged 2 – 18, located in the heart of Southsea in Portsmouth, and they now seek a highly organised and accurate Admissions Registrar / Administrator to join their team. This would suit a well experienced Registrar or Administrator who has worked in Admissions, or in a similar wide functioning administrative role requiring high levels of accuracy.

As the new Admissions Registrar / Administrator you will take a lead responsibility and act as the coordinator in the management of the College’s Admissions processes, communicating their Lasallian ethos to prospective pupils and parents, giving clear information about our excellent educational opportunities, guiding them through the Admission procedures and maintaining information in existing Management Information Systems. This is a key role in the development and management of the College
This is a wide and varied role where the Admissions Registrar / Administrator will work closely with the Marketing Manager and Student Recruitment Office, and as a team, develop and foster effective working relationships with academic and support colleagues to generate interest and new admissions to the school, as well as helping with the recruitment process from first enquiry to joining, including visits, tours, academic tests and the sending of offers

THE CANDIDATE: The successful candidate for the Admissions Registrar / Administrator role will need to be a highly organised Registrar or experienced Administrator and will need to take a proactive approach to work; have personal integrity and the drive to do what is best for the pupils and the school in line with their Lasallian ethos. It would be ideal if the candidate has experience in a similar position dealing with Admissions, ideally in a school or education setting, but it is not essential if candidates can demonstrate they are highly accurate with great time management and prioritising skills, and have experience in a wide and varied multi-functioning administrative role. You will need to have good IT skills, hold a high level of professionalism and sensitivity, and be able to handle and monitor processes where compliance is a key aspect along with outstanding attention to detail . In addition
candidates will need to be able to work independently on a wide range of tasks with minimal direction and will need to have adequate means to commute to Southsea in Portsmouth.
Key Experience/ Characteristics preferred for the Admissions Registrar / Administrator role in Southsea, Portsmouth :-
- Will need to be an experienced Registrar or Administrator with experience carrying out a wide range of tasks with minimal direction
- Excellent accuracy and attention to details is essential
- Excellent time management and prioritising skills essential
- Must have experience handling and monitoring processes where compliance is a key aspect along with outstanding attention to detail
- Excellent IT skills, particularly with excel
- Be able to communicate succinctly and effectively both orally and in writing
- Be able to deal appropriately with a wide range of people and handle sensitively confidential information
- Although not essential, any previous experience working with a school or education information system would be highly desirable
