Department: Court of Protection
Based in Manchester city centre - walking distance from Deansgate train station
Main purpose of Job: To perform all administrative duties and provide full admin support to the department as a whole.
Be responsible to Court of Protection for your day-to-day administrative duties including, typing correspondence and reports.
Organising client files etc. utilising the firm’s equipment as appropriate.
Copying, scanning enclosures and maintaining the smooth-running of client files.
Taking phone calls which may include dealing with clients, their families and other professionals in the absence of or at the request of the Deputies. Taking concise and accurate messages and relaying these in a timely manner.
Ensure client files are maintained in compliance with the firm’s office manual procedures, that all filing is carried out promptly and efficiently and that files are neat and tidy and suitably organised.
Possess excellent time management and prioritising skills and be able to organise a demanding workload.
Be willing to undertake additional training in all aspects of the firm’s work as and when required.
Be prepared to carry out any other reasonable management request to facilitate the smooth running and development of the firm.
Observe and adhere to all the firm’s established policies and procedures, as amended from time to time, paying particular regard to the Health and Safety Policy and the Equal Opportunities Policy.
Assist in compliance with Health and Safety at Work Act 1974
As Administration/Secretarial Support in the Court of Protection Department, you will be expected to act as part of the team and as such your role may occasionally be altered to help others complete their duties. Your job is to perform typing and administrative tasks to enable your fee earners to concentrate on legal tasks, giving support and assistance where required. The role is a demanding one which requires enthusiasm, eagerness, organisation, attention to detail and determination to get the job done right first time.
