Our client in Ashton-Under-Lyne Greater Manchester is a diverse and vibrant further education college that offers a wide range of course including A level and advanced level vocational study programmes, Apprenticeships and adult courses up to degree Level. They are now looking to recruit a Central Support Administrator to join them to provide general clerical, secretarial, administrative and business support to college staff in line with college policy, procedure and processes.

Providing an information and enquiries service including course and bursary enquiries via college receptions, you will be part of a team providing support in relation to students, student records, support services staff and curriculum staff requirements; demonstrating a customer first approach and making suggestions for improving and developing services to learners and other service users.

Assisting with general administrative and organisational tasks associated with the provision of the college administration service (filing, recording information, laminating, photocopying, answering the telephone in a professional manner, dealing with enquiries, chasing up on emails and preparing and sending out letters), you will liaise with other departments to ensure the smooth and timely functioning of the department and learner journey and deal with complaints in a calm and professional manner.

With excellent customer service skills and fast and accurate keyboard skills using Microsoft Word, Excel and email and other IT administrative applications, candidates must have the ability to work as part of a team and have an orderly and systematic approach to work to achieve high levels of accuracy.  Previous experience within a customer service role is essential, as is a background of dealing with the public, responding to queries.
