Forbes Solicitors, one of the largest Law Firms in the North West, has a vacancy for a Admin Assistant based within the Residential Property Team at the Rutherford House office in Blackburn. 

The position will be suited to a motivated self-starter who will work independently as well as supporting a wider team. 

The suitable applicant will be required to undertake the following duties:

  • Dealing with incoming and outgoing post
  • Providing typing / administrative support to the Department
  • Responsibility for the opening, closing and quality control of files to meet ISO QMS requirements
  • Working in co-operation with Fee Earners
  • Typing letters, notes, memos and other documentation from audio dictation
  • Answering incoming calls

The successful applicant will have:

  • 5 GCSEs A to C, or equivalent, including Maths, English Language & ICT – essential criteria;
  • good interpersonal and organisational and IT skills;
  • a willingness to learn to touch type and develop skills as they progress within the Firm
  • knowledge of filing as well as other office procedures
  • ability to work unsupervised as well as part of a team
  • ability to deal with Clients by telephone and in person
  • knowledge of IT systems, including software packages and email
  • ability to use office equipment, including fax machines and photocopiers

The hours will be 9.00am until 5.00pm, Monday to Friday, commencing with 20 holidays, plus 8 statutory bank holidays pro rata.
